What is Consumer Duty

  • Consumer Duty is part of the FCA's strategy to make financial services work better for customers.
  • It sets out clearer and higher expectations for the standard of care firms give customers.
  • It requires firms to act in good faith, avoid foreseeable harm to their customers and support and empower them to make good financial decisions.
